It could be obtained by visiting Gru's Lab near the Playground and interacting with Gru, an NPC. Now that the event has ended, the Zodiac Minion Egg can only be obtained through trading.
The only pet players can hatch from the Zodiac Minion Egg is the Zodiac Minion Chick.
